Wedding at Villa Baroncino, Tuoro sul Trasimeno, Perugia, Umbria, Italy

What looks like an ordinary lakeside town was actually the scene of one of history's epic battles.

Tuoro Sul Trasimeno is now a placid place on the shore of Lake Trasimeno.

Its medieval monuments and fishing pier provide pretty spots to use for nice photos. But a few millennia ago this was a battleground during the Punic Wars.

In what has been called "the greatest ambush in history," the Carthaginian general Hannibal routed the greater Roman legions led by Gaius Flaminius, driving them into the lake and sending the Romans into turmoil at the infringement on their territory.

The venue of this beautiful wedding is located exactly in the countryside of this historic town in central Italy.

The photo session began in the late morning with the preparations of the spouses in the respective apartments on the estate, while the symbolic ceremony took place in the pretty garden surrounded by greenery.

At the end of the celebration a greeting to all present and then aperitif in the pool.

The photo session with only the couple took place during the dinner break also because a storm hit the area but luckily it didn't last long and for the rest of the evening it was beautiful without rain.
